Smart Thermostat

The thermostat adjusts temperature automatically when you arm your system to Away, so you are not manually turning the dial down every time you leave, and it can shift back before you arrive home if the ADT app knows your system is about to be disarmed. Over time it builds a pattern based on when the home is actually occupied rather than a rigid manual schedule.

Remote control through the ADT app means you can check and adjust the temperature from anywhere, useful for anything from an unexpected cold snap to a rental property you are not physically at.

When a fire is detected, the thermostat automatically shuts off the HVAC fan. This matters because a running fan can pull smoke through ductwork and spread it to rooms that were not on fire, or feed a fire additional oxygen. This is not something a standalone Nest or Ecobee thermostat does on its own, it works because the thermostat is integrated into the same ADT panel that detects the fire in the first place.

That integration is the core difference between a smart thermostat bought separately and one installed as part of your NetSecure360 system: the safety response happens automatically, without you or the fire department needing to know to shut off the HVAC manually.
